2018 Paralegal Week Award
GAP presented its FIRST EVER President's Award for Outstanding Leadership to Cynthia Bynum, MBA to honor four years of exceptional leadership of GAP, particularly towards development of business partners, planning and instituting continuing legal education for members, and regulation efforts.
2017 Paralegal Week Awards
GAP presented special awards to honor its NFPA national award winners: Sabrina Henry was presented the Outstanding National Leader award and Janet Wilson Williams, RP was presented the Paralegal of the Year award. It was a wonderful way for Paralegal Week to be celebrated in Georgia by bestowing these awards to exempliary GAP members and officers.
2016 NFPA Paralegal of the Year Award
The National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA) announced the selection of Janet Wilson Williams, RP as recipient of the organization’s 2016 Paralegal of the Year Award. The award was sponsored by Capitol Lien and presented on October 22, 2016 at NFPA’s annual convention in Burlington, Vermont. This award recognizes an individual NFPA member whose on-the-job achievements have contributed to expansion of the paralegal profession, including contributions to his or her employer and colleagues and the paralegal profession in general. Ms. Williams is GAP's Director of Paralegal Certification and NFPA Secondary Delegate and is employed by Andersen Tate & Carr, P.C. in Duluth, Georgia.
2016 NFPA Outstanding Local Leader Award
Sabrina D. Henry was presented the National Federation of Paralegal Associations' Outstanding Local Leader Award on October 22, 2016 at its annual convention in Burlington, Vermont. This award recognizes an individual NFPA member for outstanding local leadership contributions to their local association. Ms. Henry is employed as a senior paralegal by Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP in Atlanta, Georgia and serves as GAP's Vice President and NFPA Primary.
2015 Georgia Technical College Student of the Year and GOAL Program Winner
Stephanie Jackson, GAP member and a paralegal studies student at Georgia Piedmont College, was named the Technical College System of Georgia's 2015 Student of the Year. Ms. Jackson competed for the top student honor as part of the annual Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) program, which recognizes top technical school students. As the 2015 Student of the Year and State GOAL winner, Ms. Jackson will serve as the 2015 TCSG Student Ambassador, will speak before the General Assembly, and receive a personal commendation from Governor Nathan Deal. 2014 NFPA Certification Ambassador Award
The National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA) announced the selection of Janet Wilson Williams, RP, Director of Paralegal Certification of the Georgia Association of Paralegals, as recipient of the organization’s 2014 Certification Ambassador Award. The award was presented on October 11, 2014 at NFPA’s annual convention in Dallas, Texas. Ms. Williams is employed by Andersen Tate & Carr, P.C. in Duluth, Georgia. 2008 PACE Ambassador Award
The National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA) announced the selection of the Georgia Association of Paralegals (GAP) and its PACE Ambassador, K. Paezle’ Harris, RP, CLA of Cox Communications, Inc. as recipient of the organization’s 2008 PACE Ambassador Award.
